About Tim
I have over a decade of professional experience solving technology problems for home users, small businesses, and large corporations.
I’ve worked in design, installation, and support roles in the telecommunications, networking, and personal computer industries.
Current Projects
Currently, I’m a freelance technology writer, primarily writing for About.com, a New York Times Company. I am also the co-owner of a growing technology services company for small businesses.
I’m also working on my first book – a unique how-to guide designed to help home and small business technology users solve costly and intimidating problems themselves with simple steps anyone can follow. I’m sure you’ll see me shamelessly self promote this in the near future.
Why the Blog?
I already have a blog on About.com, but the focus there is on supporting PC related issues only. I needed a place where I could answer questions from my readers concerning a wider variety of technologies.
Another big reason for starting this blog was to create a launching pad for my book. You’ll see a lot of what’s in the book appear in one form or another on this blog. It’s a great way to get your feedback.
Finally, I also needed an outlet to talk about “everything else.” That said, rest assured you won’t be seeing links to the latest YouTube craze here. I’m thinking more along the lines of links and discussions to other interesting and relevant topics surrounding home and business technology.
Some Personal Tidbits
If you haven’t guessed already, that picture above is of me. Just so you don’t think I’m a random know-it-all or a collection of random know-it-alls, I thought it might be a good idea to put a face to the blog, so to speak.
I’m married, have a three year old son and three cats, live in a [super] small suburban town and absolutely love to travel. I have all kinds of hobbies but the only one I make sure I get to on a regular basis is photography. I love it… it’s my creative outlet. I’m no expert but I’m getting better.
Feel free to drop me an email anytime.
